Nice but pricey food. Too pricey for the quality they offer. But it's tasty, there is always a place to sit so you can come with a large crowd to lunch, they have excellent home-brewed beers and the breads that you get before the lunch are their speciality and are super tasty! Just beware, you pay by how many pieces you eat so don't be surprised All in all, solid 3 stars.

So. I have fond memories of this place. We used to come here when I was a teenager, and when I was a student. So to come here now and be so disappointed is quite sad. I ordered warm and cold beefsteak salad. My husband ordered sausage with baked beans. We had their homemade pastries. When I bit into the pastries, all I could taste was salt. So much salt. I should have seen the other mistakes coming. Basically, to hide utter incompetence of the chef or maybe the less-than-fresh ingredients, everything is horridly salty. Not just \very salty\. My salad, the greens, was not for human consumption. First, it came overly done. So done it was chewy and more like a thing soon to be know as a shoe, than something that should be on your plate. I returned it. The waiter was baffled, he saw nothing wrong with the meat. The next plate i got was...I have no words. Basically the chef has no comprehension of anything besides \shoe\ or unning through the pastures\. It was blue in some places. It was not cut properly so I has big chunks of uncut and raw meat on my plate. And there was so much salt i felt it grinding between my teeth. The waiter asked to try again, I refused at that point. After all, i heard a very angry female chef the first time waiter went back with the food and did not want to risk it. That is the last time I ate there. I cannot stress enough - stay away. There are much better places for beer and food in town.
You will find moderately priced but great pub food and good beer in this huge pub. I've been here several times. Their grilled meat is great, but pub food is what you want to order here. I've recently ordered the pub stew which was amazing. It was so huge I barely managed to eat it all! They also have amazing homemade bread and pastries, but beware! They are NOT free. The waiter will usually try to sneak that past you. When I ordered the stew I asked if I could have some bread with it. The waiter said of course, and then said he will bring us homemade pastries as a side note. I didn't think much of it, until I saw my bill is 5 larger. They charge 1 per pastrie / homemade bread.
